CrossFit found me in 2007 when I first tried a half version of “Angie” and couldn’t walk for a week! Like many stories, CrossFit changed my life. It wasn't enough to do the workouts... I needed to teach people how to do this! I began coaching CrossFit in 2008 and opened CrossFit Lake Stevens in 2009. I grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1990. I spent 6 years active duty USMC, then became a full time Firefighter with the City of Seattle. I'm raising 2 kids with varying degrees of success and I have a wonderful woman who loves me. Truly blessed to be part of our community here at CFLS!

How I found Crossfit Lake Stevens:

My wife began CrossFit at CFLS for an entire year while I pushed weights in a regular gym.  She finally convinced me to come to CFLS in February of  2012.  I wish I had that extra year at CFLS because CrossFit is one of the best things that I have ever participated in.

Why CrossFit/CFLS?

The supportive atmosphere & camaraderie at CFLS is outstanding.  Coaches/members always feel welcomed and supported.  As a result of CFLS I am a better husband, father and I perform at a higher level at work.

I’ve been a competitive athlete, professional couch potato, gym rat and coach for 20+ years. CrossFit has it all and will benefit anyone who is willing to put the effort in.

Prior to starting at CFLS I had used local boxes as conditioning camps for my youth football teams all with excellent results. So it was in January of 2014, after finishing the football season (undefeated NSJFL Bantam champs) HAHA, had to mention that, Go Vikings! My son Colt and I signed up and CFLS has been a daily part of our lives since.

I’ve been CrossFitting at CFLS since February 2012. I have a beautiful family of five, my wife Chie and three amazing kids Kira (18), Kayto (15), and Keanna (12) who I’m quite positive you all will meet as we have made CFLS our second “Home”.

Fitness has always been a staple in our family but we often found ourselves starting something and then lose interest and quitting. We decided to join CrossFit because this was something we could do as a family and It didn’t take long for us to get hooked…not only on the workouts, but on the amazing community as well!!

Over the course of the past four years, I can say without a doubt CrossFit has improved every aspect of my family’s life. We are all much stronger and faster. Our nutrition has improved tremendously, our self-confidence is at an all-time high and we have been blessed to have met lifelong friends who we get to train with every day.

Seeing the impact CrossFit has had on my family inspired me to pursue my CF level 1 coaching certificate. I’ve always considered myself a mentor and have had a passion of helping others achieve their goals. I was blessed to become part of the coaching staff and this has allowed me the opportunity to give back to CFLS for everything it’s done for me and my family.

Each day you will be faced with new challenges!! There isn’t a better place to face these challenges with than the amazing community CrossFit Lake Stevens provides. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people is truly motivating.   I am excited and honored to have become part of the coaching staff. I love the community of people that make up CrossFit Lake Stevens and I am proud to be a part of it.

I found CrossFit about four years ago when I became bored with my typical workout and wanted a change.  CrossFit was the program I was searching for, functional movements that made sense and a supportive fitness community.  I have seen steady improvement in strength, movement and overall fitness as well as better performance while at my job.

Outside of the gym I am a Firefighter/Paramedic, soccer coach, husband and father of two crazy dogs. I am thankful to have found CFLS and look forward to the challenge of coaching in this great community!
